1991 in film: A Kiss Before Dying

So i feel like this movie isnt that well known, but that may just be because as a toddler I wasnt really aware of what was premiering in theaters. Nevertheless I find this movie an entertaining thriller. Matt Dillon is hot as always and Sean Young has some great 90's clothes. Here is to Sean Young, dont you wish you had seen her play catwoman? I sure do!

Sassy Magazine

Sassy magazine (1987-1996) seems like the magazine of my dreams. And the birthplace of Chloe Sevigny's fashion career and thank god for it!. I was a bit young to read Sassy at the time of it demise but boy I wish I had swept a few copies off the shelf when I could have. Although I have never actually read an issue of Sassy I imagine it to have been like Teen magazine but much more hip and much more edgy! Oh how I wish I could delve into the pages of Sassy!

Thank God For Grunge!!!!!

Neo-grunge
n. Grunge music - a style that emerged in 1991 with Nirvana's album "Nevermind" - translated into fashion. Characterized by heavy layering, natural colors and individualistic mixes of knits, flannel, tweed and uniforms.

I always loved grunge, I always thought it was the coolest and I still do! Here is to Neo-Grunge (and Im not talking about taylor momsens new look, ewwww) the rebirth of a wonderful time for fashion. However nothing is as sweet as the original, the 90's does it best.

1990 in film: Pretty Woman

I love this movie, as does everyone starry eyed young woman. Naturally I wasn't able to watch Pretty Woman until about 10 years after its release when I was finally trusted not to run off and become a prostitute and hope that a prince charming would find me and hand over a perfect lifestyle. As fantastical as the film is it sure fun to watch and the fashion isnt bad either.

The Sundays

English band The Sundays is one of the pivotal voices of 90's music. Up until a couple of years ago I believed that "Wild Horses" was their original song, however I do think they have by far the best version. I love, love the Sundays! All 3 of their albums (Reading, Writing, Arithmetic; Blind; and Static and Silence) are all equally amazing. Oh how i wish they would make a major comeback!

So, I had to get my Brian fix by way of made for tv movies that he stared in on lifetime! Here is looking at you David Silver, you beautiful 90's man!!!!!

Worst of the 90's part 2

The spice girls were known for their CRAZY fashion, and you better believe I would plead with my mom to dress like Scary Spice anytime I had dress down days at school. I wanted to show off my bare midriff soo bad, preferably in a purple cutout catsuit, as so many 9 year olds did that thought those 5 girls were the epitome of style. However, the Spice Girls didnt get everything right, the platforms (mostly worn by Baby Spice) were just as horrible then as they are now! These platform sneaker contraptions exploded and you could get a pair even at payless! I love the 90s but I really could leave this trend behind.
