So I remember Gwen being the crazy funky california girl in the 90's, and having grown up in california throughout the 90's I thought she was so cool, as did many girls around the world. She was the best mix of socal, cholla, and strange. No Doubt she is still a fashion icon! and not to mention her fashion line is great as well.
So Im sure everyone has seen There is something about Mary! But if you are in my generation you also remember seeing the commercials for the film and not rally understanding why Mary's bangs sticking straight up was so funny! This was a great movie and Im sure is it is still a favorite of many!
Try and think back, back a couple years, back to around 1990 when practically no one had a cell phone, but maybe had a carphone. In the 1990's only the technically savvy had cell phones, my dad had one in about 1993 and that was huge but ohhh so cool for the times. The first film that I remember that advocated the use of "celly" for those of high school age was clueless! But even in clueless there was a glitch , and that is the infamous PAGER!! Godbless the pager who didnt want one! here is to a life without texting, without the flip phone, and without caller id! Here is to the innovative brick phone, nokia, and the pager hooked on the hip!
There were many good movies in the year of 1997; Titanic which was the highest grossing movie of all time until Avatar (ewwww), My Bestfriends Wedding, As Good As It Gets, and Excess Baggage (hahah) all were released in 1997. However, the movie I remember most wanting to see in 1997 was Fools Rush In, even though I wasnt allowed to see it until about 1998 when I was "old enough" to handle its mature nature. Salma was a goddess and red hot, and Matthew was the typical cute 90's guy who discovered ethnic women. Great Movie!
I remember one day in the 5th grade there was some kind of spirit day, and one guy in my class who had forgotten to dress up simply pulled a Kris Kross and turned his pants around. With your pants on backwards its kind of hard to JUMP JUMP!
Lately I have been told that I look like I stepped out of the 1990's, and such comments are usually accompanied by a snicker as if I shouldnt take it as a compliment. Well quite frankly I think that the 90's were the best time for culture, music, movies/tv, and most of fashion! Here you will find my reasons why....
